2008       
Todd Kashdan's manuscript for Curious? Discovering the Missing Ingredient to a Fulfilling Life
is slated as a lead title for '09 publication (Harper Collins). Janet served as an outside editor and editorial coach  to ensure that the author--a leading researcher and expert in the world of positive psychology--could meet the twin goals of a 9-month delivery date and a highly accessible, mainstream book.

Frank Wildman's book based on the Change Your Age Program sold to
Da Capo.

The founder and educational director of The Feldenkrais Institute was agented by Sarah Lazin Books. Janet Goldstein Enterprises provided  thought partnership, concept development, and proposal writing.

Susan Scott signs contract with Doubleday for Fierce Leadership, a follow-up to the Wall Street Journal bestseller Fierce Conversations.  Janet Goldstein Enterprises offered thought-partnership consulting and agented this deal on "overcoming the worst best practices in business today" in a preempt to Roger Scholl at Doubleday Business.

Publication of It’s Not About The Coffee by Howard Behar, with Janet Goldstein
(Portfolio/Penguin).
Janet consulted on publishing options, wrote and agented the proposal, and co-authored the book. Six printings. Translation rights have been sold to seven countries.

Carol Roye, RN EdD, becomes regular contributor to Women's eNews and speaks at two National NOW conferences. Janet provides Carol with publishing guidance and coaching to increase the impact and audience for her clinical and advocacy work on reproductive health issues.
 
Wonderful Marriage by Lilo and Gerard Leeds sold to Ben Bella by authors for spring 2008 publication.  Janet oversaw the editorial development of book proposal, the complete production process, and initial marketing plans for
self-published edition.

2007       
Client signs contract for Breakdown, Breakthrough with Berret Koehler.  Kathy Caprino places her book
proposal, based on our consulting and her national research project
on women in career crisis and transition, for publication in Fall 2008. 

2006       
Janet Goldstein Enterprises sells first project to major publisher. Howard Behar’s book will present his stories and principles of leadership from his life at Starbucks.


2005   
First year directing Book Section of the NYU Summer Publishing Institute. This is a 6-week intensive program (3 weeks books; 3 weeks magazines) for approximately 80 students entering the publishing profession and 50 guest faculty. Summer 2008 will mark her 4th year directing the program.

A book that helped create the category of midlife self-help for women.

Relaunch of Penguin Compass Books (formerly Arkana), the spirituality imprint of Viking Penguin.  Janet directed this $3 million, 100-title imprint.

. The Buddhist psychiatrist’s lessons on

Awakening the Buddha Within, Surya Das (Broadway). The breakout book to bring Tibetan wisdom to a mainstream audience.

Your Sacred Self, Wayne Dyer (HarperCollins). Dyer’s first book to provide a spiritual context to his visionary self-help approach.

Animal Dreams, Barbara Kingsolver (HarperCollins). Kingsolver's second novel.

1988       
The Courage to Heal, Ellen Bass and Laura Davis (HarperCollins). Named one of the 25 most important feminist books of the 20th century (Sojourner). The first of a number of books I published with Ellen and Laura in this series and separately.

The Bean Trees, Barbara Kingsolver (HarperCollins). Kingsolver’s first novel. I went on to publish Homeland and Other Stories, Animal Dreams, Pigs in Heaven, and High Tide in Tucson, before changing publishers.

1985   
The Dance of Anger, Harriet Lerner, Ph.D. (HarperCollins). Lerner's first book. More than 2.5 million copies in print. This book led to the series of best-selling “Dance” books that continue to have an impact today.
